The College celebrated ҹѰ’s birthday last week – just ahead of the official Foundation Day on 30 June. With ҹѰ just shy of 60 years old, there was much to celebrate, including the launch of the latest edition of WolfWords.

President Professor Jane Clarke hosted two virtual celebrations with alumni and friends from around the world, sharing her vision of the College’s future, and reflecting on her legacy as her presidency comes to an end in October.

Friday also saw the release of the second annual edition of WolfWords, ҹѰ’s literary anthology. Last year’s inaugural anthology explored the theme of ‘Growth’ and featured poetry, art, and photography from across the ҹѰ community. This year, co-editors Debbie Pullinger, ҹѰ Fellow, and Caroline Banerjee, Student Recruitment Officer in ҹѰ’s Tutorial Department, chose the theme of ‘Wild’ for the anthology – entitled a little branch.

“We chose this year’s theme,” they say in the edition’s preface, “because of its resonances with the wolf, our appropriated College symbol, and for the wide range of directions it seemed to offer.”

Some of this year’s contributors read their poems as guests enjoyed cupcakes and the sunshine: a celebration of ҹѰ’s talent on an especially meaningful day.
